Welcome to our bookshop
We are Russell and Liz and this is our lovely bookshop just off the High Street in Cardigan, West Wales. We have a beautifully curated selection of books including fiction, poetry, history, politics, art and food and cookery. We have a children’s section with books for teeny weenies right up to teens.
We also have a cookware department, specialising in enamelware and and eclectic range of beautiful and useful objects for your kitchen and your table.
We are always looking for suggestions and ideas - so come on in and bring them with you.
Why books?
Why a book shop? Surely no one reads anymore. Ride a train or the bus, and everyone is looking at their phone. However, as we have researched this idea we have discovered a resurgence in independent bookshops, people who are already doing what we want to do. Along with these local heroes we are choosing to ignore the modern day prophets of doom and believe that books are still valued, reading still a mass pleasure and that people will want a place that provides that.
We talk about this and more over on substack (sign up below for free).
